Vision Lab: The education program of the Centre national de l’audiovisuel

The workshops at the CNA make audiovisual culture accessible to everyone through exhibition and behind-the-scenes tours, guided film screenings, and fun workshops. The CNA’s education department and artistic facilitators help young people develop their critical thinking, curiosity, and creativity in analyzing and creating images.

Cybersecurity: From Scrolling to First Paycheck

Robert Schuman – From Clausen to Europe

Through a short presentation, pupils discover the history of the house and its famous resident, Robert Schuman.

Participants then watch the documentary ‘Robert Schuman – From Clausen to Europe’. Based on historical sources, the film traces his life, from his childhood and youth in Luxembourg to his political legacy, including the Declaration of 9 May 1950.

Next, pupils play a memory game, using 12 objects to explore key moments in Schuman’s life.

The aim is to place what they have learned in its historical context and discuss Robert Schuman’s personality and political choices.

We Decide Lab: The Shared Table Simulation

Co-created by GaiaLux and Shashi BHUSHAN (idea and concept designer), this immersive educational experience combines technology with human-centred teaching practices. The core theme of this immersive workshop is “One planet is enough for everyone’s needs, but many planets will not fulfil the greed of a few”. The workshop introduces students and youth to the We Decide Lab (WDL).

It is a hybrid interactive simulation divided into two integrated phases:
1. The Digital Exploration: Participants engage with a custom-built, interactive digital simulation tool (https://one-planet-is-enough-if.ai.studio/).
This tool presents scenarios regarding climate, resource allocation, and AI policy. It will visually demonstrate the global impacts of systemic greed versus sustainable need.
2. The Shared Table (In-Person Workshop): Moving from screens to a physical, modular Shared Table, participants transition into a collective brainstorming and role-play session. Facilitated by Tiziana from GaiaLux and Shashi Bhushan, participants use physical scenario cards to engage in Socratic debate. They will negotiate, collaborate, and make collective decisions on how to allocate resources, manage tech-driven policies, and build climate resilience in their simulated community.

Learning objectives
● Critical Thinking & Ethical Reasoning: Participants learn to distinguish between sustainable needs and unsustainable overconsumption, analysing the ethical implications of technology and policy.
● Democratic Participation & Collaboration: By participating in Socratic consensus-building at the Shared Table, youth practice civic discourse, active listening, and collective decision-making.
● Technological Literacy (AI for Good): Participants critically evaluate how digital tools and AI can be harnessed for environmental sustainability rather than resource depletion.
● Actionable Climate Resilience: Abstract concepts of climate change and food/resource waste are made tangible, empowering participants to ideate concrete, grassroots sustainability plans.
