Éducation aux médias, au numérique et à l’intelligence artificielle
(usage critique, éthique, données, cybersécurité).

We live in a world that is undergoing fundamental change as a result of the digital transformation – and education is right at the heart of it. Educational staff and experts have a unique opportunity not only to prepare children and young people for this world, but also to actively guide them through it. Digital media and artificial intelligence offer enormous opportunities in different educational contexts: for differentiated teaching, creative work, collaboration and a modern approach to knowledge.

At the same time, young people need guidance – a critical, responsible and self-determined approach to digital technologies. With the Media Compass, you have concrete tools at your disposal to embed media literacy and AI literacy specifically within the classroom.

Digitality is not an add-on to the national curricula – it is an integral part of learning today and tomorrow. Create spaces where children and young people not only use the digital world, but understand and help shape it.

Subject areas

Pupils learn to question information, evaluate sources and assess media content critically. Strong media literacy is the foundation for independent action in the digital world.

Responsible behaviour online – from respectful communication to the mindful handling of one’s own and others’ data – is seen as part of a fundamental democratic ethos. Schools provide the framework within which these values can be put into practice.

Through playful and creative programming, children and young people develop logical thinking, problem-solving skills and a deeper understanding of how digital technologies work. Programming is the language of the future.

Artificial intelligence is transforming the way we work, learn and communicate. Children and young people should learn how AI systems work, where they are used, and what opportunities and risks they present – so that they can not only use the AI of the future, but also play a critical role in shaping it.

Data protection, secure passwords, safeguarding privacy and recognising online risks are essential skills for everyone. Schools have a responsibility to raise children’s and young people’s awareness of online risks and to equip them with the knowledge they need to navigate the internet safely and confidently.
