Freisprechanlag

The Journées du livre et du droit d’auteur are held each year around April 23, International Book Day, and are dedicated to a specific theme.
This event is primarily aimed at primary school pupils. However, secondary schools may also take part. Participation is open to classes, year groups or schools.
SCRIPT provides a theme-based bibliography, and schools organise activities based on the theme for the current year.
In May, each school sends SCRIPT a report on the activities carried out.
At the end of the school year, participating schools receive a ‘book gift’ as a token of appreciation.

At the start of the new school year, a summary of the ‘Days of the Book and Copyright’ is published.

Your WOW Story – Storytelling Challenge

Stories change people. But first, young people need to discover their own.

Youth Speak is an immersive “WOW Stories” experience where teenagers transform emotions, ideas, and personal experiences into unique stories to inspire the people around them.

Through creative workshops, speaking challenges, reflection, and live stage performance moments, students learn how to use their voice not only to express themselves – but to create impact.

Along the journey, participants develop confidence, emotional intelligence, communication skills, creativity, and the courage to speak about what truly matters to them. The program is crowned with a School Final Challenge, which will be opened for audience and parents. Local elected winners get the chance to participate in national competitions as the JCI Youth Speak!

For teenagers ready to dare, create, inspire, and become. Be the voice that others remember.

Objective & Pedagogical Value

Youth Speak is a preventive education and empowerment program designed to foster self-awareness, emotional intelligence, public speaking confidence, empathy, and agency. It offers a safe platform for youth to explore topics related to well-being and mental health in an age-appropriate setting. (Note: This program is educational and preventive; it does not replace psychological counseling or crisis intervention).

Program Overview & Journey

The project runs over a 2-month period with weekly sessions, concluding with a live stage challenge:

  • Creative Workshops: Discovering narrative structures, emotional labeling, and authentic voice.

  • Reflexion & Skill Building: Developing communication, active listening, and self-confidence.

  • School Semi-Final: Internal presentation with a jury panel to select finalists.

  • School Final: A live stage showcase in front of a school audience and parents. Local winners earn the opportunity to advance to national competitions as “JCI Youth Speak!” ambassadors.

Key Features & Principles:

  • Voluntary & Inclusive Participation: Designed for interested students joining voluntarily. We strongly recommend forming a cross-grade group across classes to build a dynamic, non-judgmental environment. Participation is open to all regardless of academic grades or previous experience.

  • Complete Ownership of Personal Stories: Students decide what they share—they can tell real, fictional, symbolic, or anonymous stories. No one is ever forced to disclose personal or sensitive experiences.

  • Privacy & Respect: Strict guidelines ensure stories respect third-party privacy (no full names or identifiable details about peers, teachers, or family members).
