My body is mine!

Our workshop, ‘My Body Belongs to Me!’, aims to encourage children to listen to their intuition, to understand that there are physical boundaries, and to ask for help when those boundaries have been crossed.

The workshop consists of three parts:

  • A round-table discussion during which the children can express their feelings using emotion cards;
  • A main activity, which involves sticking green and red stickers around the outline of a person that we draw on a sheet of paper, to visualise the boundaries of their bodies;
  • To conclude, we look at a book with the children that summarises what we have covered so far, and the children are gradually encouraged to say ‘No’ very loudly.

The objectives of this workshop are the following:

  • to recognise and express the boundaries of my own body;
  • to respect other people’s boundaries;
  • to recognise and express my feelings;
  • to name the parts of my body correctly;
  • understand what the terms ‘private’ and ‘intimate’ mean;
  • know who is allowed to touch my private parts and under what circumstances;
  • know who I can ask for help, and who my trusted adults are;
  • be able to say ‘no’.

Workshop: ‘Bombo! – I am the boss of my body!’

Every child has the right to be protected from violence in all its forms. This is set out in Article 19 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The school plays a crucial role here, as it offers the opportunity to empower and raise children’s awareness early and regularly. To make this possible, SCRIPT developed the ChmenKi! prevention project in 2022.

6 Core Principles:

  1. My body belongs to me.
  2. I can tell the difference between good, bad and strange touches.
  3. I trust my feelings.
  4. I have the right to say no!
  5. I distinguish between good and bad secrets.
  6. I can and should seek help.

These principles are addressed through worksheets, songs and theatre activities. The workshop is held together with the teacher and lasts:

  • up to 2 hours for Cycle 1
  • up to 2h30 for Cycle 2
  • up to 3h30 for Cycles 3 and 4

Parents receive an information letter in advance.

Pedagogical material

  • Teaching material with 24 activities (Cycle 2 and Cycles 3–4) accompanies the project. It can be ordered using the ‘Bon de commande’ of the Ministry of Education 2026-2027. The material should be ordered for every pupil before the workshop.
  • For Cycle 3, there is also the story ‘And who’s the boss here then?’, available in Luxembourgish, French and English.
  • The material is also available digitally on the website heydoo.lu.
