megaLab

The Ministry for Gender Equality and Diversity is delighted to invite you to megaLab 2026, which will take place on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 November 2026, from 8.30 am to 3 pm, at Kinepolis Kirchberg.

The megaLab is aimed at pupils from secondary schools in Luxembourg and provides a space for discussion, experimentation and reflection on issues of equality and diversity that directly affect young people.

During their day at megaLab, pupils will take part in a programme of interactive and participatory workshops designed to encourage them to challenge stereotypes, gain a better understanding of the mechanisms of inequality and discrimination, and work together to identify practical ways to take action.

To ensure the coherence of the educational programme, registration must be for a full day. It is therefore not possible to register a class for individual workshops or modules within the programme.

We invite you to register one or more classes from your school for one of the two days of megaLab 2026, free of charge.

Stop Ebola “Escape Room”

The ‘Stop Ebola’ escape room, developed by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), is an immersive awareness-raising tool. The escape room takes the form of a tent so that it can be easily moved and set up for the general public. Participation is free and open to all age groups (aged 10 and over). The tent is set up like an MSF staff changing room and allows participants to immerse themselves in the daily life of a medical team working in the midst of an Ebola crisis – a highly infectious and extremely dangerous disease.

Working in teams of 2 to 8 people, you’ll be working for MSF on a mission during an Ebola outbreak. Will you manage to open all the lockers in time and put on your personal protective equipment before you begin your work?

This protective equipment is of paramount importance in safeguarding healthcare and support staff responding to an epidemic or pandemic. It is used in particular in high-risk areas – areas where confirmed Ebola patients are being treated and where it is easy to become infected with the virus.

Our aim is to use the Escape Room to raise awareness, either at our offices in Luxembourg City or in schools. This activity is offered as a complement to a presentation on MSF’s humanitarian projects and the contexts in which it operates, particularly in relation to epidemics such as Ebola. The aim of the Escape Room is to help pupils understand emergency situations and learn more about epidemics. Through hands-on experience, they learn about all the safety and hygiene measures required when treating highly contagious diseases, as well as the importance of communication, teamwork and coordination.

The Forest and I

‘The Forest and I’ is an immersive educational programme that encourages students to learn through direct contact with nature. Through sensory experiences, field observations, scientific activities and moments of reflection, the students develop their curiosity, their understanding of the living world and their ability to make connections between what they have learnt in the classroom and their environment.

Based on an active, scientific and experiential approach to learning, the programme contributes to the implementation of Luxembourg’s secondary school curriculum, particularly in the fields of natural sciences (biology), education for sustainable development and cross-curricular skills, by enabling pupils to:

  • discover, observe and understand the characteristics of the living world;
  • deepen their scientific knowledge through hands-on experiments;
  • understand the unity, diversity and interdependence of living organisms;
  • explore how ecosystems function and the interactions within them;
  • develop attitudes of respect, responsibility and conservation towards nature

The programme also enables students to discover the positive effects of nature on physical and mental health, whilst understanding the close links between human health, biodiversity and the proper functioning of ecosystems. It thus provides a concrete illustration of how human health is intimately linked to that of the living world.

Beyond subject-specific learning, the programme also promotes the development of essential skills such as observation, critical thinking, cooperation, communication, personal reflection and experiential learning.

When we observe how boys interact with one another, we see that physical contact plays a significant role. Many boys seek to rub up against one another, push, shove, jostle and scuffle in order to connect with one another. In many contexts, this is not welcome because different behaviours are expected. There is also often a fear that the line between such behaviour and actions that cross boundaries – and are therefore violent – is blurred, and that the situation could spiral out of control. ‘EKF!’ builds on what many boys enjoy and therefore find appealing: powerful, dynamic physical contact whilst maintaining mutual respect, without violence and without any losers. In this taster session, they experience the KampfESspiele® method developed by the KRAFTPROTZ® Institute. The focus here is on the ‘inner referee’ – an awareness of fairness, justice and responsibility. Through fighting together, participants develop a positive way of dealing with strength and aggression.

Being strong – but how? Discovering masculinity and health through play

In this workshop, we will explore the question: What does it mean to be a boy or a man? Together, we will examine the different notions of masculinity, how they influence the way we think and act – and why health plays an important role in this. Through playful exercises, creative methods and mindfulness activities, participants will learn to challenge stereotypes, build self-confidence and develop a healthy relationship with their bodies and emotions. The workshop encourages discussion within the group and demonstrates that everyone is allowed to be just as they are!

Playfight

Teambuilding fir Schoulklassen

Eng Klass ass méi wéi ee Grupp vu Schüler – si ass eng Gemeinschaft, déi sech entwéckele muss. Dëse Workshop ënnerstëtzt Schoulklassen dobäi, sech besser kennenzeléieren, Vertrauen opzebauen an e positiivt Mateneen ze gestalten.

Duerch kooperativ Spiller, gemeinsam Erausfuerderungen a praxisorientéiert Gruppenaufgabe ginn d’Schüler dozou ugereegt, zesummen ze kommunizéieren, Verantwortung ze iwwerhuelen, sech géigesäiteg z’ënnerstëtzen a gemeinsam Léisungen ze fannen. Dobäi stinn net Konkurrenz oder Leeschtung am Mëttelpunkt, mee d’Zesummenaarbecht an d’Erfarung, als Klass gemeinsam eppes erreechen ze kënnen.

De Workshop fërdert sozial Kompetenze wéi Kommunikatioun, Empathie, Vertrauen, Kooperatioun a respektvollen Ëmgang mateneen.
